Oral Transmission

it is important to receive an oral transmission (Tib. ལུང་, lung, Wyl. lung) from a teacher, in order to create an auspicious connection with a particular text or practice.

The reading transmission is passed down from master to student when the student listens to the teacher reading a text for which he holds a transmission, ultimately going back to the author of the text.

OUR PAST EVENT

A3-FINAL.jpg

On September 11, 2022, His Honorable Eminence the 9th Neyphug Trulku Rinpoche conducted the Oral Transmission of the Prajnaparamita Sutra at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, before a global audience. Rarely transmitted in its entirety, for the first time in Singapore, the entire 8000 verse reading was completed within one day, a remarkable feat only achievable by an accomplished teacher gifted with prodigious stamina, adroit verbal skill, and profound wisdom. The Prajnaparamita Sutra is considered one of the most transcendent, sacred, and profound texts of the Buddha’s teachings, distilling the essence of all the sutras. The reading provided blessings for all the attendees who could hear the teachings and blessings for our current world full of difficulties and suffering. We give our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to his Eminence for providing this oral transmission, our special guest Chung Trulku Rinpoche, our volunteers, and everyone supporting their efforts. Rejoice!!
